Preliminaries, Niguma Yoga Practice, and Empowerment with H.E. Kalu Rinpoche
H.E. Kalu Rinpoche will hold a retreat from 29 May to 30 May in the preliminary practices of Shangpa Kagyu Ngondro and in the practice of Niguma Yoga. On Sunday afternoon there will also be an initiation into the mandala of the 4 deities (Mahakala, Vajrayogini, Green Tara and Chenrezig). The retreat is open to all and no special prior knowledge is necessary.
The yoga practice that is practiced during the retreat goes back to Niguma. Along with Sukhasiddhi, she is the founder of the Shangpa Kagyu lineage. She was born in the 12th century in Kashmir, India. Having practised in an infinite number of previous lives, she attained realisation in this life. She was the sister of the great scholar Naropa. Among many other things, she taught this yoga practice.
